Who helps who?
An ongoing survey is tracking the number of volunteer opportunities available across the area; monitoring the number of food bank vouchers issued and ascertaining trends on five specific areas of support offered by Citizen’s Advice across the area. The information is then reported to the Local Enterprise Partnership.
The idea is to get below the stereotypes that surround some areas of our region. Cheshire is seen, by some, as prosperous. By many measures it is. This does not mean that there are no problems. The pandemic caused sudden changes in work and lifestyle. For many this was a temporary blip. For a significant number the effects will be felt for some time to come. The ending of furlough and the abolition of the Universal Credit uplift has the potential to affect those in employment almost as much as those currently workless. This piece of work will be ongoing so that early warning of local trends can be obtained. The latest report can be found here[MH1] .
